Rebecca Courtaux

Head of Student Support @ University Lincoln

As Head of Student Support at the University of Lincoln, I am responsible for the Advice Service, Student Funding Team, and Student Support, as well as the front line reception and switchboard service.

The teams provide students with information, advice and guidance regarding university policies, procedures and administration. We offer a free, confidential legal advisory service, and support students with issues ranging from employment law, immigration legislation, debt and welfare through to housing and funding. Our most recent initiative, funded by the HEFCE Catalyst Fund, involved creating a University wide awareness campaign, empowering students to report and challenge inappropriate behaviour with an emphasis on hate crimes. We work closely with Lincolnshire Police and the local council to tackle anti-social behaviour within the community and have successfully reduced incidents involving noise complaints dramatically within the city.

I have worked in both further and higher education and within training environments for over 20 years and have specialised in safeguarding and supporting students to achieve and overcome barriers.
